Between Water and Sleep

“Between Water and Sleep” 2026
“Between Water and Sleep” was born from a quiet moment in the studio, when I was thinking about that fragile state between reality and dreaming. I wanted to paint not a person, but a presence — a figure that seems to belong both to the world of water and to the world of inner silence. The water here is not just a landscape; it is a border, a mirror, a passage.

I worked slowly, letting the light and reflections guide the composition, searching for a balance between clarity and dissolution. The figure appears as if emerging from a dream, or returning back into it. For me, this painting is about that brief moment when time pauses and you are no longer sure whether you are awake or still dreaming. It is a space of quiet, contemplation, and inner transition — a place between water and sleep.
